AutoCAD Designer

Location

Fond du Lac, West Bend, WI

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designing products, which includes creating all necessary layouts, assembly/part drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) for use in other areas.
• Provides training and guidance to CAD Operators, and Designers as required to keep them current on design procedures and new developments.
• Provides support to other functional areas to ensure successful execution of projects.
• Provides customer support by working directly with customers to develop product specifications and by locating replacement parts for previously built unites out in the field.
• Researches purchased parts and assemblies to be used on new trailer designs.
• Reviews order specifications for the manufacturability, regulatory compliance and foreseeable issues with purchased components. Prepares list of long-lead purchased items based on specification review.
• Prepares preliminary structural and regulatory compliance calculations and layouts.
• Provides support to other engineering personnel as needed.
• Participates on interdepartmental projects and recommends or suggests design changes that will improve the efficiency or effectiveness of the department or company as a whole.

EDUCATION:

• Associate Degree in Mechanical Design.
• 6 years experience in mechanical design

• (6 Month C-D) ($20-$23/hr)
