Position
Summary: Custom Products Design
Engineer is responsible for
creating high quality custom
designed products at a minimum
cost while meeting and exceeding
customer satisfaction. In
addition, the Engineer is
responsible for leading or
supporting projects that expand
product offerings and improve
the overall efficiency of the
Custom Engineering Team.
Position
Responsibilities: Create custom
product designs that meet
customer requirements. Review
Design Specs to establish
customer requirements, interact
with Marketing, Proposals, and
the customer as required.
Support manufacturing and
resolve design issues for
designs created. Continuously
expand knowledge of custom
distribution switchgear
products. Complete design and
information requests for
Marketing, Proposals, and
Service. Lead projects that
expand product offerings, and
meet or exceed quality and cost
targets. Define and Implement
process improvements that
improve the efficiency of the
Custom Engineering Team.
Implement and Refine design
tools that reduce design cycle
time and errors. Utilize 3D
modeling and design automation.
Effectively collaborates within
engineering team and other cross
functional teams.
Position
Qualifications: BS - Electrical
or Mechanical Engineering. 5+
years of design experience with
electro-mechanical systems.
Demonstrated successful
experience in project
leadership. Experience in Power
Engineering is a plus. Working
knowledge of computer modeling
and FEA is a plus. Working
knowledge of Inventor/AutoCAD is
a plus. Knowledge of power
systems and / or industrial
automation & controls is a plus.
Working knowledge of design for
manufacturability, reliability,
and serviceability. Demonstrated
ability to work in cross
functional environment.
Demonstrated excellence in
communication and interpersonal
skills. Excellent analytical,
problem solving, and
facilitation skills, 6 sigma
experience is desirable. |
