ETL Developer

  Under minimal supervision, coordinates the work of technical, data and ETL architects. Oversees the design of the data and technical architecture for the data warehouse. Oversees the development of ETL scripts, metadata definitions and models, queries and reports, schedules, work processes, and maintenance procedures. Ensures proper backup and recovery processes. Supervises selection of hardware, storage, and software products. Creates a robust, sustainable architecture that supports requirements and provides for expansion given budgetary constraints and availability of data and skilled resources. Evaluates and selects various data warehousing tools and components. Coordinates multiple architect responsible for development, integration, administration, and evolution of the data warehouse.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience as an ETL Developer performing design, development and integration in 3 tiered Data Mart.
  • Minimum 2 years experience functioning as a lead on Data Integration projects.
  • Minimum 3 years experience with and engine based ETL tool.
  • Proficient in developing SQL stored procedures.
  • Proficiency with data mapping applications, data profiling tools, and metadata repository software.
  • Proficient with relational databases (SQL Server, DB2).
  • Proficient with query tools such as SQL.
  • Advanced knowledge of Data Integration concepts and strategies including EII, ETL, EL-T and EAI.
  • Experience with Decision Support systems design and development.
  • Experience with all phases of relational data modeling.
  • Experience with Metadata strategies.
  • Experience with Master Data Management.
  • Experience building data warehouses from the ground up.
  • Experience with Use-case analysis.
  • Experience with multiple business domains.
  • Experience balancing theory and practical reality.
  • Experience developing ETL design and technical specification documents.
  • Business Objects and Informatica experience a plus.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
