eCommerce Technical Lead

This position will lead the deployment and development of internally developed eCommerce platform. The platform is written in Java and makes extensive use of the popular Struts and Spring frameworks as well as Endeca Technologies industry leading search and navigation engine and Ektron Web Content Management System. The optimal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience, and be comfortable building high quality software in a dynamic team environment. The type of person who succeeds in our environment loves to be challenged, strives for perfection, and thrives in developing highly reliable software. The position will work closely with the eCommerce Manager in planning flexible and scalable eCommerce software solutions, which include best-of-breed user interfaces using Java semantic HTML, CSS, and SEO techniques.

As the Technical Lead this person will identify, assign, and manage development activities for a 2-12 person team. You will also mentor and provide technical assistance to team members (Software Engineers), and build complex Java code with good structure that is easily maintainable.

To accomplish the activities listed above, the proposed candidate should be able to work with both local and remote team members, and make appropriate assignments to team members based upon skill level. The candidate should also be able to communicate to Senior Management as well as various technical groups.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from a four-year college or University.

Five years of post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Engineer with an additional two years experience leading a Software Development Team.

The candidate should also be proficient in the following disciplines: Agile Development techniques, Web technologies (including XML, XHTML, Semantic HTML, SEO, Usability design, and CSS), STRUTS and SPRING frameworks, Design Patterns (MVC, DAO, Singleton, Factory Command, etc.) Websphere and Apache web servers, search technologies such as Endeca, and Lucene. The candidate also needs to have expert knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle, including: Use Case analysis, Design Patterns, Testing Techniques, and Deployment.
