ETL Developer II

Location

Milwaukee, WI

Under minimal supervision, develops technical, data, ETL, and BI solutions. Assist with the design of the data and technical architecture for the data warehouse. Assists with the development of logical and physical data models, ETL scripts, metadata definitions and models, queries and reports, schedules, work processes, and maintenance procedures. Ensures proper backup and recovery processes. Contributes to the selection process of hardware, storage, and software products. Creates a robust, sustainable architecture that supports requirements and provides for expansion give budgetary constraints and availability of data and skilled resources. Helps evaluate and selects various data warehousing tools and components. On occasion, coordinates multiple architects responsible for development, integration, administration, and evolution of the data warehouse.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 3 years experience as an ETL Developer performing design, development and integration in 3 Tiered Data Mart.
• Minimum 2 years experience with an engine based ETL tool.
• Proficient in developing SQL stored procedures.
• Proficient with query tools such as SQL.
• Experience with data mapping applications, data profiling tools, and metadata repository software.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, DB2).
• Experience with Decision Support systems design and development.
• Experience with all phases of relational data modeling.
• Experience with Metadata strategies.
• Experience with Master Data Management.
• Experience building data warehouses from the ground up.
• Experience with Use-case analysis.
• Experience with multiple business domains.
• Experience balancing theory and practical reality.
• Understanding of Data Integration concepts and strategies including EII, ETL, EL-T and EAI.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
