Software Programmer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Codes, tests, debugs, documents and maintains application programs in order to automate business.
• Integrates applications with other systems and databases.
• Developing transactional websites where performance and stability are required.
• Performs unit testing to ensure the quality of the code produced.
• Provides primary and/or backup support for systems or sub-systems. This may include on-call or after-hours support as required.
• Effectively uses programming tools to assist in application development.
• Works with project manager to plan, estimate, schedule and implement programming tasks.
• Works with business analysts, architects, and other members of a project team to develop the system concept, interface design, and architecture of the system.
• Creates technical design documentation from which programs will be written.
• Provides recommendations for application and system improvement.
• Supports and adheres to defined standards, practices and procedures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two to five years application development experience using Microsoft .NET technologies.
• Demonstrated experience with object oriented programming.
• Knowledge of real-time multi user systems and web technologies highly desired.
• Relational database technology experience with SQL Server and DB2.
• Knowledgeable with SOA design and technologies.
• Knowledge of web technologies such as ASP.NET, VB.NET, XML, XSLT, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Awareness and understanding of multi-tiered software architectures for business applications.
• Strong personal motivation with excellent work and positive, team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to bridge communication between technical and non-technical project staff and business unit members.
• Ability to come up with the best solution for given requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects and rapidly changing priorities.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent experience.
