Position Summary: Designs
products including subsystems,
or complex assemblies or modules
within budget, schedule, and
technical compliance parameters.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Applies in-depth
knowledge of variable
frequency drives, power
electronics, and/or control
electronics in order to
effectively and efficiently
design, troubleshoot, and
validate products from a
component up to the
subassembly level.
- Conceptualizes the
architecture of small
products, subsystems or
complex assemblies to
develop high technology
products within a concurrent
engineering environment.
- Validates small product
or subsystem performance in
order to prove the technical
design through analysis,
simulation and/or laboratory
test.
- Generate accurate
drawings and reports for the
subsystem or complex
assembly to effectively
document and communicate a
design to internal and
external customers.
- Assist with creating the
conceptual designs,
technical documentation, and
budget estimates for bid and
proposals.
- Analyze and comprehend
Product and Military
specifications to ensure
product or program
compliance. Uses the
requirements to drive design
efforts. Independently
develop and implement
corrective action to project
and procedural problems
identified.
- Communicates with the
customer and internal
management as the technical
expert on small system
projects in order to
effectively interface with
all facets of
decision-making personnel
and customer management.
- Provide accurate cost,
schedule and technical
compliance updates to
management for assigned
programs to record progress
on small programs or
subsystems.
- Work effectively in a
multi-disciplinary team
environment and provide
technical leadership on
small projects.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in the
field of Electrical
Engineering or equivalent
technical field required.
- United States
citizenship required.
- Minimum seven years of
detailed design experience
with variable frequency
drives, power electronics,
and/or control electronics
required.
- Experience with Navy
applications and market a
plus.
Additional Desirable
Qualifications Skills and
Knowledge:
- Design experience with
variable frequency drives,
power electronics, and/or
control electronics.
- Experience in estimating
work for Bid and Proposal
efforts.
- Capable of 5% travel in
support of fielded
equipment.
- Military background.
