|
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design electrical
cabinets, specifying the
materials and manufacturing
processes for low and medium
voltage applications.
- Conceptualize complex
assemblies, and ensure their
fit into the structure and
environment.
- Ensure that performance
requirements such as shock,
vibration, temperature rise,
EMI, dielectric, noise,
water tightness and dust
tightness are met.
- Set technical direction
for mechanical design and
development of products in
support of cost, schedule,
and performance goals.
- Validate designs through
calculations, analysis, (FEA),
and lab testing.
- Generate documentation
for design validation,
manufacturing procedures,
proposals, and customer
correspondence.
- Take on "Project Lead",
"Mechanical Lead", or
"Control Account Manager"
role as needed for a
project, ensuring that
customer requirements and
understood, communicated to
project team and executed
effectively for assigned
projects.
- Interface with Program
Management, colleagues,
government representatives,
suppliers, and customers to
ensure projects run
efficiently and meet
requirements.
- Provides guidance and
mentorship to less
experienced engineers and
designers.
- Provide budget,
schedule, and technical
compliance updates to
stakeholders.
- Assist with the
disposition and analysis of
non-conforming material,
production parts, or
customer returned material.
- Assist with new
proposals, recruiting, and
the purchase of engineering
tools or capital equipment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in
Mechanical Engineering
required (MS preferred).
- 10 or more years of
electronic packaging
experience, preferred.
- Professional Engineering
license preferred.
Additional Desirable
Qualifications Skills and
Knowledge:
- The ability to engineer
low and medium voltage,
complex electrical cabinets
is required.
- Knowledge of welded and
bolted structural
engineering and material
finishing is required.
- Knowledge of
manufacturing and assembly
methods for steel and
aluminum enclosures is
required.
- The ability to organize
and successfully manage
multiple projects is
required.
- Background in the
Military.
